It has been a busy time recently, and I have much to smile about and be grateful for.
My new Mike Lynch thriller, Cold Winter Sun will be published on 1 November. This is the sequel to Scream Blue Murder, and I hope fans of that book will enjoy the follow-up.
Also, I recently had my new DI Bliss book accepted by my publisher. This is the fourth in the series, and is called The Reach of Shadows. I think it’s my best book to date, and fans of Jimmy Bliss and Penny Chandler will hopefully find plenty to enjoy. It’s a book which delves deeper into Bliss’s past, and will either break him or make him whole again. At the same time as the shadows of the past reach out for him, Bliss and the team also have a vicious murder to investigate, and a series of leads which has them puzzled right up until the end.
I am currently working on a variety of writing projects. This is my usual method, working on ideas until one of the pieces insists I focus on it. It is a process that keeps me busy and guessing after completing a new book, as any plans I make normally last no longer than 72 hours.
Other than writing, I am both excited and nervous about appearing at the Bloodhound Books ‘Blood @the Bar Meet the Authors’ event on Saturday 13 October in Leeds. I am looking forward to meeting readers, bloggers, and some more fellow hounds.
Finally, on Friday 5 October the cover for Cold Winter Sun will be revealed by Susan Hampson, who kindly agreed to do this for me on her wonderful blog. I hope you like the cover as much as I do – it’s stunning. Watch out for a significant update to this site over the weekend.
